LA IMAGEN DE LOS INMIGRANTES EN LA FICCIÛN TELEVISIVA DE PRIME TIME. AN·LISIS Y RECOMENDACIONES PARA LOS PROFESIONALES

Esta tesis analiza la imagen de la inmigración en la ficción televisiva de prime time, analizando para ello casi 3.000 personajes de ficción, siendo la mayor muestra, hasta la fecha, que se ha empleado en España para un estudio sobre inmigración. Se pretende comprobar si la aparición del fenómeno inmigratorio se caracteriza, como concluyeron el resto de investigaciones realizadas, por la distorsión, la mirada prejuiciosa, la infrarrepresentación y la asociación, en general, con valores negativos. Gracias a los cuatro estudios realizados (tres de corte cuantitativo y uno de corte cualitativo), la tesis intenta cubrir varios aspectos relacionados con la representación de los inmigrantes en la ficción audiovisual. Así, se analiza la imagen que se ofrece de los inmigrantes, el tipo de interacciones que este tipo de personajes establece con los nacionales y el modo de creación de personajes, tanto a nivel teórico como práctico

Resumen (Inglés): This doctoral dissertation deals with the representation of immigration in prime time television shows in Spain. The study evaluates 3.000 fiction characters, and it is the most comprehensive Spanish study in the field up to date. The dissertation aims to assess previous studies on the topic that concluded that immigration in Spanish shows is widely portrayed in a negative, judgmental and underrepresented way. The dissertation is divided into four different approaches: three following a quantitative method and one qualitative method. It covers various aspects of the representation of immigrants in audiovisual narrative, including the way immigrants are portrayed, the relations they establish with Spanish characters and the methods used to build them both in theory and practice.
